Drywall Installation for Rooms, Walls and Ceilings
New drywall hung, taped and finished for small rooms, replaced wall sections and damaged ceilings, ready for paint.
Sometimes a patch isn't enough. A ceiling that sagged after a leak, a wall that was opened up for other work, or an old garage or bonus room that was never finished all call for drywall installation. We hang the new board, tape it and finish it so the room is ready for paint.
Jobs we take on
- Replacing a water-damaged ceiling or wall section
- Finishing a garage wall, storage room or small bonus area
- Closing up a wall after a plumber or electrician has done their part
- Covering an old doorway or pass-through you no longer want
- Replacing old paneling with drywall in one room
- Hanging moisture-resistant board in a bathroom or laundry room
We keep to jobs that fit a small, careful crew. A whole-house hang on new construction is a different kind of job, and a dedicated drywall crew is better set up for it. If that's what you need, we'll say so. Our guide on handyman vs. contractor explains where that line usually falls.
What a good drywall job involves
Hanging the sheets is the quick part. The finish work is what makes it look right.
- Checking the framing first. Studs or joists that are out of line, rotted or missing make for a wavy wall. We look before we hang.
- Right board for the room. Standard board for most rooms, moisture-resistant board where there's humidity.
- Proper fastening. Screws set just below the surface without tearing the paper. That cuts down on nail pops later.
- Tape and mud in layers. Usually three coats on seams and screws, with drying time in between. Georgia humidity can slow drying, so we don't rush it.
- Sanding and texture. We feather the edges smooth and match the texture to the rest of the room.
Things to sort out before we hang
Once the board is up, what's behind it is hard to reach. Before we close a wall or ceiling, it's smart to:
- Have any wiring changes done by a licensed electrician
- Have any plumbing changes done by a licensed plumber
- Make sure any leak that caused the damage is fixed and the framing is dry
- Decide on insulation if the wall is exterior or the ceiling is under an attic
We'll walk through this with you during the estimate so nothing gets sealed in that shouldn't.
From bare studs to a painted wall
Most people want the room finished, not just hung. We can handle interior painting and put back trim or baseboards once the walls are done, so you don't have to line up a second crew.

Common questions
Do you hang drywall in a whole house?
We focus on smaller jobs like a room, a few walls, a ceiling, or a section after a repair. For a full new build or a large remodel, a drywall crew or general contractor is usually the better fit.
Can you put up moisture-resistant board in a bathroom?
Yes. In bathrooms and laundry rooms we use moisture-resistant board where it makes sense. For a tile shower surround, cement board is the right choice, not drywall.
Do you move wiring or plumbing when the walls are open?
No. If wiring or plumbing needs to change, a licensed electrician or plumber should do that first. We hang and finish the drywall after their work is done and inspected if required.
Will the new wall match the rest of the room?
We tape, mud and texture the new board to blend with the walls around it, and we can prime and paint so it's finished.
