Terraced Hillside Landscaping by the Lake
A lakeside slope planted with shrubs and ornamental grasses in terraced beds, finished with fresh mulch.
Slopes are hard to keep looking good, especially by the water where rain wants to wash everything downhill. On this property, the hillside is broken into terraced beds held by timber retaining walls.
The beds were planted with rows of shrubs and ornamental grasses and finished with fresh mulch, with groundcover along the front of the lower walls. Near the shoreline, grasses fill the bank above the rock. As the plants fill in, their roots help hold the soil in place.
